“I’m a ray of fucking sunshine!”

Yes, my real name is actually “Sunshine” … And it’s a pretty fitting name as well. Just ask anyone who knows me and they’ll usually tell you that ‘I’m a ray of fucking sunshine!’ Or maybe that’s only if you ask me, but either way, if you want to guarantee that you’ll have Sunshine on your wedding day, I’m pretty much the only one who can make that happen.

I was born and raised in Colorado and am very proud to call this place my home. I love the mountains and fresh air, I like the deer walking down my street, and the bears scouting any trash cans that were left out… I’m where I’m supposed to be, this is for sure my forever home. It’s also where I want to raise my son, River , and watch him grow into a full fledged human man.

I spent a lot of my childhood growing up with my Grandma Marilyn who introduced me to photography at just 5 years old. Since then it seems that I’ve always had a camera in my hands every day and was taking pictures of anyone and everyone willing to let me. Somewhere along the way, and throughout the years, I realized that this ‘photography thing’ is what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

When I’m behind the camera I find myself smiling and feeling like my complete self. I connect with my clients and love that I can genuinely share their moment with them. There’s nothing more special than capturing a single moment in a photo that I know my clients will cherish for a lifetime.

Now, as a member of Epoch Moment, I’m finally able to pursue this passion as a career and share my talents with the world.

“My life is dope and I do dope shit!”

My last name (Hebert)  is pronounced “eh bear” which is French Canadian as my father was born in Canada. I was born and raised in Colorado with a short 2-year stay in Canada as a kid and a long 10-year stay in California as a teen and young adult. I just realized that I’ve only lived in places that start with the letter “c” – That’s not terribly important but I literally just noticed it.

I officially launched Epoch Moment Photography in 2015 as a full-time as a wedding and engagement photographer. I had no plan and no idea how I was going to make it all work but I knew that this was without a doubt exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Now in retrospect, none of this feels like a job or work, this is just who I am and what I get to do all day erry day… And I love it!

Anyways, back to the story… So my beautiful wife (Branda) bought a bunch of camera gear for my birthday and so, of course, I started telling everyone I was a photographer and immediately started shooting weddings. Now here we are a bunch of years later, and 400+ weddings later, and I’m living my absolute best life. I left a bunch of details out for sure… But, the point is, my wife started me on this path and I am eternally grateful for her support in building Epoch Moment. She’s also the reason I use orange in the logo – It’s her favorite color.

I’ve always been a creative person – I used to draw, ink, and digitally color comic books, and I also did a ton of digital art and photo composites. This is where I learned composition, color theory, posing, Photoshop, and a bunch of other related skill sets that carried over nicely into photography. Basically, I learned photography backward from most people as I learned how to edit over the last 30 years, and then learned how to take photos of my own that are worth editing.

Now, some 10 years later, I’m living my passions every single day and my life is pretty fucking dope!

“You know I’ll be there!”

I’ve viewing the world through my camera lens for nearly 10 years now. Originally I started photography as a hobby to explore my creative side, during this time, I’ve worked mainly as a chef while also going to school to become a Software Engineer.  After doing that for some time, it didn’t take me long to realize that photography and being a photographer and videographer is the path I am supposed to be on.

Now, with Epoch Moment, I do this full-time and it has become my absolute passion to define the beauty in both moments and people that I see through my lens and capture the pulchritude of life.

In my spare time, you can find me exploring nature with my dog Brutus and my wife Delaney. I’m always working on the next project whether it be automotive, aquariums, or building computers – There truly is not enough time in a day.

I’ve joined the Epoch Team to help build the entire Epoch Company brand of companies into a powerhouse media and creative company. We have so many cool things coming your way with Epoch and have built an amazing set of companies that I’m proud to call this team and company my family.

Our Style

Our shooting style is a more photo-journalistic, lifestyle, and candid with a dash of fashion magazine.

We like to say that we’re appropriately interactive photographers who like to add to the experience of the day and make stuff happen. We encourage silly and weird, embrace crazy and adventurous, and we relish in pure love and emotions. We’re there to make you look awesome and cool as well as enjoy the day to its fullest and have fun.

We operate under the simple concept of… “If you’re not having fun, then you’re doing it wrong.”

What does appropriately interactive mean?

Well, exactly that. We interact with our clients, talk to their guests, and play our part in the day no matter what craziness happens throughout the day… But we do so in an appropriate way based on the client and the moment. Some clients need that little extra push toward a moment and some don’t… Some need encouragement to get silly and express themselves while others don’t. We’re there to make your engagement or wedding day special and memorable. By the time we finish an engagement shoot and wedding day, we’re all BFF’s.

The experience of hiring us as your creative team is just as important as us delivering high-quality photos and videos of all of your special moments.

At the end of the day, we’re hugging you and your parents and your grandmas… And offering high fives to anyone willing… We’re present with a purpose… Professional wedding guests, if you will.

With posing… well… We can pose you but prefer not to ‘pose‘ anyone as we’re looking for a more natural interaction between you both.

However; we do understand how weird it can be having a huge camera aimed at you… So we’re there to guide you into poses, situations, and moments that let you be you and fit your personalities. We’re there to set the stage, make you look awesome, and capture your love no matter how involved you need us to be in that particular moment.

We also make sure you don’t look stiff or weird… Unless of course, we’re going for that hipster vibe, then stiff and weird it is!

We’re not a normal photography studio, we like personality and adventures. So if you’re looking for boring rigidly posed unauthentic photos… We’re not the photographers for you. But if you’d like to have fun, play, be weird, act silly, be romantic, and look dope af… Then you’re at the right place. Let’s do this!

Our main goal in any shoot is to capture the raw emotion, personality, and energy of your relationship, your engagement, and your wedding day to create images that you will love and be proud to share for a lifetime.

For an engagement… Treat it like a date. Just be extra lovey and only talk about your relationship and the reasons you fell in love. Hang out, love each other and have a good time, and the photos will simply happen naturally.

For a wedding… Well, it’s a wedding, so be present at your wedding. Participate in your special day and make some memories with your closest friends and family. The photos are important but you also have to slow down and simply enjoy the day that’s happening around you.
